This is the original drawing by me of Amethyst a.k.a. Amy Winston a.k.a. Princess of Gemworld created by Dan Mishkin, Gary Cohn, and Ernie Colon and redesigned by Brianne Drouhard.

Completed for Inktober 2014, a drawing project focused on improving drawing & inking techniques that are key to comic books.

Brianne's DC shorts of Amethyst were incredibly inspiring for me. DC Nation in general was such a fun idea and let us see so many characters in new and exciting ways. I would still love to see a full treatment of Brianne's Princess of Gemworld but hopefully we can see Amethyst pop up more and more in comics, cartoons, and movies over time.
