Bio
Alyssa is a Puerto Rican Artist from the Bronx, NY who helps people understand the necessity of art to survival. Growing up in The Bronx and being surrounded by concrete is often assumed to be a cold upbringing surrounded by pure danger. Alyssa was introduced to Art through the endless creativity of her own Nuyorican family who used their talents to allow their imaginations to soar regardless of circumstances. Thus paving the way for her to go further than some were allowed to dream. Their works allowed her to recognize the indomitable strength of the human spirit similarly explored by her most well-known inspirations. Alyssa’s work emphasizes the necessity of Art to our Survival by both creating and celebrating how we use Art to understand Life. Alyssa graduated from The Bronx High School of Science, followed by Wellesley College with a BA in Studio Art, and the School of Visual Arts with an MFA in Computer Art.
